Sixshooters Rally For Late Win Over Blue Sox
|
Irving got a terrific performance from pitcher Donnie Rawling, but it wasn't enough to beat the Westwood Sixshooters. Westwood won the Sixshooters Stadium contest, 3-1. Rawling was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 7 innings of shutout ball. The winner was Westwood reliever José Martínez, now 2-2. The loser was Napoleon Vitagliano. Felipe Deleón was credited with the save for Westwood, his 25th of the season.
Jaime Espinar swatted a 2-run home run for Westwood in the bottom of the eighth. The second baseman went 2 for 4 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 1 run and batted in 2.
"This is a great group to be a part of, and it's a big win for us," Espinar told the Westwood Chronicle.
The Sixshooters are now 43-36, while the Blue Sox fall to 43-36.
