Eclipse Get 8-5 Win Versus Virginia Beach
|
The Northville Eclipse trumped the Virginia Beach Whales, 8-5, at Old-Timers Park. Northville designated hitter Daron Mack was named player of the game for his performance. He went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. The winner was Northville reliever Cristián Reyes, now 3-2. The loser was Olaf Solleveld. Juan Colón was credited with the save for Northville, his 17th of the season.
Mack had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a 2-2 slider from Olaf Solleveld, he banged a 2-run home run to left-center, giving the Eclipse a 6-5 lead. It was the 8th home run of the year for Mack.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Mack said.
Northville, at 37-36, sits in 5th place in the Silver AA.
