Ghosts Win at Lancaster, 5-1
|
Casper Ghosts starter Dave Shepard turned in an exceptional performance against the Lancaster Farmers at Farmers Field, resulting in a Casper win, 5-1. The winning pitcher was Shepard, now 6-4. He tossed 7 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 7. Casper improves to 45-28 with the win. They lead their division by 4½ games.
Casper used the timely hitting of Hjalmar Bisseling to capture the win. The first baseman socked a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Ghosts ahead, 2-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Shepard told the Casper Bulletin.
