|
The Virginia Beach Whales trumped the Lancaster Farmers, 5-4, at Virginia Beach Grounds. Virginia Beach left fielder Alfonso Cabedo was named player of the game for his performance. He went 2 for 5 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Virginia Beach reliever Kenny Hunt picked up the win, upping his record to 4-3. Hugh Scott took the loss. Virginia Beach is 5th in the Silver AA with a record of 36-35.
Cabedo had the big at-bat for Virginia Beach. With one out in the bottom of the 12th inning, he hit a sacrifice fly, giving Virginia Beach the 5-4 win.
"Nice to put this one in the win column," said Cabedo.
