Rapiers Need Extras to Top Hops
Benefiting from an exceptional performance from Lonnie Doble, the Durham Rapiers defeated the Yakima Hops, 10-8. Doble slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice for the Rapiers. Durham reliever Curt Moore was credited with the win, to go to 1-2. Hendrikjan Zweers took the loss for Yakima. Wilbert Gallegos recorded his 4th save for Durham.

The game was all tied up in the top of the tenth, until Doble delivered big-time for Durham, stroking a dramatic 2-run home run off Hendrikjan Zweers. The game-changing hit put the Rapiers on top, 10-8.

"I like our resilience," said Doble.

Durham, now 36-34, holds 4th place in the Silver AA.
