Blue Sox Come Back Late to Clip Farmers
|
With designated hitter Govaart Baars leading the charge, the Irving Blue Sox defeated the Lancaster Farmers, 5-2, at Farmers Field. Baars went 1-3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Irving is now 28-18, 3˝ games up in the Silver AA.
Baars had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a 2-2 fastball from Carlos González, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Blue Sox a 4-2 lead. It was the 3rd home run of the year for Baars.
"We played hard and won," said Baars. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'
