The Fighting Imps grabbed a win, 4-1, at Virginia Beach Grounds, overcoming a fine effort from Virginia Beach pitcher Cody Wilson. Wilson went 6 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Marcos Córdova finished the game for Ithaca and earned his 4th save.
J.J. Holmes made it 2-1, Ithaca, in the top of the ninth when he drew a walk, driving in 1 run. It was a big at-bat in the Fighting Imps win.
"We need to keep playing good baseball," Holmes told the Ithaca News.
Virginia Beach has now lost 5 in a row.
