Phoenix Hotspur Wins, Santángel goes 3-for-3
|
Juan Santángel had a big hand in Phoenix Hotspur's 13-8 triumph over Ithaca. He rattled off 3 hits in 3 at-bats, scoring 2 times and knocking in 3 runs. For his performance, Santángel was named player of the game. Phoenix Hotspur reliever Francisco Medine picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Callum Dallin shouldered the loss. Phoenix Hotspur is 9th in the Silver AA with a record of 17-20.
Keith York was 1 for 4 with a double and a walk. He scored 2 runs for Phoenix Hotspur. The 27-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 7-7 tie with a run-scoring walk off Reid Myers. It was his 9th walk of the season.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Santángel told reporters after the game.
