Late Rally by Whales Secures Win
The Virginia Beach Whales downed the Yakima Hops, 6-4, at Virginia Beach Grounds. The Whales were led by Jon Deal, who captured player of the game honors. He went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. The 'W' lifts Virginia Beach's record to 20-17.

Deal had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a 2-1 slider from Sung-jae Man, he banged a 2-run home run to left-center, giving the Whales a 6-4 lead. It was the 5th home run of the year for Deal.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Deal told the Virginia Beach Bulletin.
