Whales Hang 7-3 Loss on Eclipse

The Virginia Beach Whales stopped the Northville Eclipse, 7-3, at Old-Timers Park. The Whales got a big game from Jesús Gómez, who was 2 for 4 with a home run and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Virginia Beach reliever Arvid Alberink picked up the win, bumping his record to 5-2. Pi-ao Tsao was collared with the loss. The Whales now own a record of 19-16.
In the top of the first, Keith Pick pounced on a cutter from Pi-ao Tsao and hit a solo home run. It gave Virginia Beach a quick 1-0 lead.
Gómez told a Virginia Beach Bulletin reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
