Deal Delivers Clutch At-Bat for Virginia Beach in Walk-Off Win
The Virginia Beach Whales dealt the Casper Ghosts a 5-4 loss at Virginia Beach Grounds. Jon Deal was the star on offense. He was 2 for 5 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Virginia Beach reliever Danny Richardson picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Amadi Azagba was saddled with the loss. The Whales, now 9-3, have played some good baseball in the early going.

The game came to a dramatic end. In the bottom of the ninth, with Virginia Beach trailing 4-3, Deal hit a knuckle curve from Amadi Azagba for a 2-run home run, giving the Whales the walk-off win.

"We played hard and won," said Deal. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'
