Yakima played host to Lancaster at the friendly confines of Hops Park.
Miguel Pacheco led Yakima to a win over Lancaster. The final score was 8-5. Pacheco collected 2 runs batted in, while going 3 for 5 at the plate. The third baseman also scored 2 times. Chris McDonald got the win, improving to 1-0. He held the Farmers to 2 earned runs on 5 hits over 5.2 innings, while striking out 3 and walking 1.
One of the key players for the Hops was right fielder Jesús Leoz, who drilled a run-scoring single in the bottom of the third inning. For the game, Leoz went 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk.
"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Pacheco.
With the win, Yakima improves its record to 5-7.
