The Irving Blue Sox got their 2039 USSL Double A season off to a good start, defeating the Lancaster Farmers, 7-6. Govaart Baars was 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. For his pace-setting performance, he was named player of the game. Napoleon Vitagliano locked down his 1st save.

Baars had a key at-bat for Irving early in the game. With the bases loaded, he hit a grand slam home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and gave Irving an early 6-2 lead.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Baars told the Irving Herald.
