Gestel, Cossiga Receive 5-Game Suspensions Monday, August 17th, 2037 At a recent Octopi-Lead Sox contest at Nebraska Aquarium, Shalom Gestel of Ogallala took exception to what Gregorio Cossiga of Indiana said to him and tackled him. This led to an old-fashioned bench-clearing free-for-all between the two clubs. After the umpires restored order, they ejected both players. Today the league commissioner's office took action and suspended each player for 5 games, citing them for "inappropriate and aggressive conduct." For the year Gestel has hit at a .255 clip with 23 RBIs, no home runs and 20 runs scored. Thus far this season Cossiga has saved 3 games. His won-lost mark is 1 win and 2 losses with 13 strikeouts in 16.1 innings, along with a 8.27 ERA. |
