Loons Hurler Named September's #1 Starter Wednesday, October 1st, 2036 There's something about a young rookie winning the USPL Double A Pitcher of the Month trophy that sends shock waves through the league. Such is the case with Rafael González, a 25-year-old starter for the Minnesota Loons. In September, he topped off the month with a 2-0 mark and 0.81 ERA in 3 starts, tossed 22.1 innings, fanned 15 and held opposing teams to a .177 average. In his career stats, González has won 37 and lost 21, collecting 367 strikeouts and 230 walks in 512.2 innings with a 3.18 ERA. Opponents have hit .224 against him. |
