PL Names Alfonso Gold Ball Winner Sunday, November 1st, 2037 The Charleston Battery have a rising superstar or maybe even a budding Hall-of-Famer in the making. It's Tony Alfonso, this year's United States Premier League Gold Ball selection. This blossoming hurler wowed fans, peers and sportswriters with a fabulous performance. Alfonso compiled a 11-5 record in 25 starts, tallied 147 strikeouts in 160.2 innings and recorded a 3.59 ERA. Other clubs managed only a .230 batting average against him. Rhys Maskell of the Chicago Silver Sox finished second in voting, while Raśl Romero of the Portland Evergreens finished third. |
