The Mercer Island Screaming Eagles moved to within one game of the Round 2 today, downing the visiting Northville Eclipse at Mercer Island Grounds by a score of 6-2. Screaming Eagles shortstop Maxence Sultanbekov was named player of the game after he went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. The win gives the Screaming Eagles a 3-2 advantage in the best-of-5 PL AA Championship.

Terry John, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2031 draft, chipped in for Mercer Island with a 3-run home run in the bottom of the second. For the game, the second baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 3 runs batted in.

"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play even better," said Mercer Island manager Richard Weaver.
