Patriots Need Extra Frames to Get Past Coeur
|
The Boston Patriots dealt the St. Louis Coeur a 4-3 loss at The BFIB. Manuel Carmona was the star on offense. He went 4 for 5 with 2 doubles, 2 singles, and a walk. Boston reliever Carlos Arreola picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Jaime van de Weideven shouldered the loss. Boston, now 13-4, is setting the league on fire so far.
Boston used the timely hitting of Wilbur Davis to capture the win. The right fielder socked a solo home run in the top of the 13th inning to put the Patriots ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 6 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"There's a lot of good karma around our club," said winning manager Tyler Carter.
