Grey Wolves Win to Extend Series Lead to -

The Vancouver Grey Wolves started the United States Premier League Championship in style today, winning on the road against the Houston 1837 BBC at Houston Grounds by a score of 7-2 to take an early - lead in the best-of- series. Grey Wolves shortstop Richard Jost was named player of the game after he went 3 for 4 with 3 singles and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2.
Vancouver used the timely hitting of Ray Skipworth to capture the win. The designated hitter socked a run-scoring double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Grey Wolves ahead, 1-0. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was an important one.
"We took advantage of our opportunities," Skipworth told the Vancouver Bulletin. "It's as simple as that."
