The Greenville 84s moved to within one game of the Round 2 today, downing the Boston Patriots on the road at Dunkin Donuts Park by a score of 10-3. 84s designated hitter Doug Allerdale was named player of the game after he slugged 3 home runs. He scored 4 runs and drove in 5. The win gives the 84s a - advantage in the best-of- United States Premier League Championship.
It could have been a different outcome for Greenville, had it not been for Yu Miao, the 23-year old center fielder . Miao contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to put Greenville up, 2-0.
"We have been clicking right from the start of this series, so our mission statement at the moment is just don't tinker with anything," Greenville manager John Bosma told reporters.
