The New Orleans Voodoo are one game away from a sweep of the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids today after a 3-1 road win at Atlantica. Voodoo right-hander Gilberto Medina was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball. New Orleans now holds a - advantage in the best-of- United States Premier League Championship.

With one out in the top of the third, Colm Goodwill barreled up a fastball from Ricardo García. The result was a 2-run home run, putting the Voodoo in front, 3-0.

"I'm proud of the boys for pulling through," said Voodoo manager Chase Sims. "The wins don't come easy for this team, but everyone's got an extra jump in their step after a game like this."
