Almost There: Northern Virginia On Cusp of R1 Triumph After 4-2 Win
Northern Virginia catcher Nick Bechtel was the key at The Voodoo Lounge today, being named player of the game as he powered the Rainbow Mermaids to victory in a critical Game of the Silver League Championship. The Rainbow Mermaids took the 4-2 win over the New Orleans Voodoo to seize a - lead in the best-of- series.

It could have been a different outcome for Northern Virginia, had it not been for Steven Rohrs, the 28-year old left fielder . Rohrs contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put Northern Virginia up, 3-1.

"It's hard to overstate how much this mattered to us, especially in a short series," Northern Virginia manager David Lister said.
