Thrice as Nice: Boston Seizes - Advantage With Late Win
The Boston Patriots took the first game of the United States Premier League Championship in dramatic fashion today, topping the Hollywood Shredders 4-3 in an extra-inning walk-off win. Patriots right-hander Firpo Marberry was selected player of the game, as he threw 5 innings of 4-hit ball.

The game was at a stalemate until left fielder Jeff Simpson came to bat in the bottom of the tenth. Facing Hollywood pitcher Seung Pak, he hit a 0-1 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Boston on top, 4-3.

"We're going to have to play flawless baseball from here on out," Hollywood manager Bill Cheese said. "Which, let's face it, we haven't been doing lately."
