Thrice as Nice: Philadelphia 1776 Seizes - Advantage With Late Win
The Philadelphia 1776 BC and the Brooklyn Dodgers will take the United States Premier League Championship to a decisive th game. The BC got a dramatic walk-off victory in a must-win situation today to beat the Dodgers 11-10 at Ben Franklin Memorial Coliseum and force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Brooklyn right fielder Peer van Lochem was named player of the game in a losing effort after he belted 2 home runs, while adding 6 RBI and scoring twice.

The game was at a stalemate until catcher Gerold Olthof came to bat in the bottom of the 13th. Facing Brooklyn pitcher Morris Prinkey, he hit a 2-1 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Philadelphia 1776 on top, 11-10.

"Best-of- series are brutal," Brooklyn manager Erock Genova said. "You can get into trouble so fast. We can't afford any mistakes now."
