5 Straight Wins for Cougars
|
The Valley View Cougars picked up a win at Nebraska Aquarium, knocking off the Ogallala Octopi, 5-3. Starting pitcher Chris Plautz was an essential part of his team's success. The Cougars have now won 5 straight.
A critical at-bat came in the top of the ninth inning when the Cougars sent 21-year-old left fielder Matt Méndez to the plate with the bases loaded. The youngster shook off the pressure and reached on an error by the 3B, driving in 1 run, to put Valley View on top, 5-3.
"This team is real focused right now," said Valley View manager Will Thomas.
