Cajuns Win at Valley View, 4-2

The Crowley Cajuns stopped the Valley View Cougars, 4-2, at Hillandale Grounds. The Cajuns got a big game from Hal Phillips, who was 3-4 with a triple and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI. Mauro Sandín picked up the win with 5.1 innings of work. He allowed 2 earned runs on 7 hits, while walking 5 and striking out 7. On the season, he is now 5-10. The Cajuns saw their record improve to 44-45.
Crowley used a timely hit from Alex Fields to get the win. The shortstop delivered a 2-run triple in the top of the third inning to put the Cajuns on top, 3-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Crowley manager Pedro Rodríguez.
