The Valley View Cougars topped the Indiana Lead Sox, 4-1, in USPL Rookie action at The Lead Mine. The player of the game was Valley View pitcher Chris Plautz. Valley View has now won 3 straight, while the Lead Sox have lost 16 in a row.

It could have been a different outcome for Valley View, had it not been for Ruhinda Kirkconnell, the 19-year old shortstop . Kirkconnell contributed a 2-run single in the top of the fourth inning to put Valley View up, 4-0.
