Fort Knox turned a good effort from starter Ming Zhai into a win over the Indiana Lead Sox at The Lead Mine. The final score was 4-1. Fort Knox reliever Brian Duncan picked up the win, upping his record to 2-3. Gregorio Cossiga shouldered the loss. Indiana is in the throes of a 15-game skid.
Fort Knox used the clutch hitting of Masafumi Kawaguchi to capture the win. The designated hitter drilled a 2-run double in the top of the tenth inning to give the Centennial the lead, 3-1. For the game, Kawaguchi had 2 singles and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
"I thought we played a nice game," Zhai told the Fort Knox Times. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
