The Ladue Rams did just enough to secure a 4-3 victory over the Crowley Cajuns at Ballpark of Wellsville. Nobody did more than pitcher Jiao-long Yuen, who captured player of the game honors. Yuen went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 8 hits, walked 1, and struck out 8. His record improves to 2-1. Crowley has now lost 6 in a row.
In the bottom of the 6th, left fielder Bobby Norris gave Ladue the lead when he hit a 3-run home run. The Rams had been trailing 2-1, but the two-out home run off Crowley pitcher Melvin Martínez changed that -- and Ladue went on to win.
"We've hit a rough patch right now," said Crowley skipper Pedro Rodríguez.
