The Ogallala Octopi beat the Valley View Cougars, 6-3, at Nebraska Aquarium. Ogallala second baseman José Garrastazu earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He went 3 for 5 with a triple and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times. Reliever Cristián Padilla picked up the win. His record improves to 1-2. Allen Brown took the loss. The Octopi now have a record of 16-26 with the win over Valley View.
Garrastazu made an early impact for Ogallala when he stroked his 1st triple of the season. The run-scoring triple, which came in the bottom of the first, put the Octopi on top, 1-0.
"I'm proud of the boys for pulling through," said Octopi manager Soseki Matsunaga. "The wins don't come easy for this team, but everyone's got an extra jump in their step after a game like this."
