The Long Island Ducks beat the Crowley Cajuns, 7-3, at Ducks Park. The Ducks got a fine performance from third baseman Tomás Martí, who captured player of the game honors. He was 3-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Emilio Zatori got the win, improving to 5-3. He pitched 7 innings, giving up 7 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 8 and walking 1. Binjimen Victor earned his 7th save in 10 tries.
Long Island took a 5-3 lead on Martí's 6th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which he hit off Labeeb bin Muneer in the bottom of the seventh, propelled Long Island to the win.
"It's nice to come out on top today," said Martí.
Long Island has now won 3 in a row.
