Ducks Drop Flanderses with Late Score
|
Benefiting from John Camp's productive game, the Long Island Ducks downed the Hudsonville Flanderses, 5-3. Camp went 4 for 4 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI for the Ducks. John Sawyer got the win, improving to 2-0. He pitched 8.1 innings, giving up 7 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 7 and walking 2. At 22-11, the Ducks are currently second in the Premier R.
Had Camp not come through in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have changed. Instead, with two down, Camp hit a 2-run double. The Ducks never looked back after taking the 4-3 lead.
