Victory Over Music Takes Crowley to 21-12
|
The Crowley Cajuns beat the Memphis Music, 7-3, at Mammoths Ballpark. Crowley shortstop Scott Fields earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He went 4-5 with 4 singles. Lee Tucker was the winner. Over 6.1 innings, he allowed 3 runs on 9 hits, with 2 walks and 8 strikeouts. Crowley is now 21-12.
Crowley used the timely hitting of Jamy Geertsen to capture the win. The second baseman socked a bases-clearing double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Cajuns ahead, 7-3. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was an important one.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Geertsen told the Crowley Daily News.
