Riding the 4-hit performance of the 20-year old shortstop Carlos Martínez, the Fort Knox Centennial stopped the Ogallala Octopi, 8-2. The Centennial improved to 18-14.

Fort Knox used the timely hitting of Doug Tipton to capture the win. The pinch hitter socked a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Centennial ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was an important one.

"Winning the game is always the first objective," Tipton said.
