The Long Island Ducks topped the Valley View Cougars by the score of 4-3, with the biggest share of the credit going to first baseman Sergio Morán. Morán was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Ducks on the day. Binjimen Victor earned the save for Long Island, his 5th of the year. The winning streak has now reached 5 games for Long Island.
The game was at a stalemate until designated hitter Illarion Podmarkov came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Valley View pitcher Esteban Sánchez, he hit a first pitch fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Long Island on top, 4-3.
