The Valley View Cougars handed the Ogallala Octopi a loss at Hillandale Grounds. The final score was 7-6. Matt Méndez was named player of the game for Valley View. In addition to his 1 single and 1 home run, he scored 1 run and drove in 2. Fernando Mora picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-1. Cristián Padilla was tagged with the loss. The Octopi fall to 7-10 and continue their uninspiring start to the 2037 season.

The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Valley View trailing 6-4, Yong-ho Jheon hit a fastball from Cristián Padilla to center for a bases-clearing triple. Just like that, the Cougars had a walk-off win.
