The Surprise Shockers got a superb performance from pitcher Jayden Fairhead, but the Hudsonville Flanderses still won the game, 2-1. Fairhead was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 7 innings of 6-hit ball. Hudsonville reliever William Morán got the win, raising his record to 1-1. Jayden Fairhead was tagged with the loss. The Shockers, at 3-10, have stumbled out of the gate.

Jorge Agramunt had a big run-scoring double for the Flanderses in the bottom of the first inning. With Hudsonville leading 1-0 and a runner on 3rd, he got a fastball from Jayden Fairhead and stroked the double to right. It was his 3rd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Flanderses ahead, 2-0.

"We made a couple of mistakes," said Surprise skipper , "and it cost us."
