The Fort Knox Centennial got a stellar effort from pitcher Sergio Tacuri, helping Fort Knox score a 3-2 win over the visiting Ogallala Octopi. Tacuri, now 1-0, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 10 hits, while striking out 6, walking 0, and allowing 2 earned runs. Roble Gichinga closed the game out for Fort Knox, earning his 1st save.

The Centennial got a lift from right fielder Frans van Dalen who had a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the fifth inning off Jerry Williams. It was his 3rd RBI of the season and put Fort Knox in front, 3-2.

"We did enough to win," said Tacuri.

The Octopi fall to 5-6 and continue their uneasy start to the 2037 season.
