Crowley played host to Valley View at the friendly confines of Titans Ballpark.
The Crowley Cajuns topped the Valley View Cougars, 6-4, in USPL Rookie action at Titans Ballpark. The player of the game was Crowley left fielder Dave Summers. Crowley reliever Jesús García picked up the win, bumping his record to 1-0. Fernando Mora was collared with the loss.
The game was all tied up in the bottom of the eighth, until Summers delivered big-time for Crowley, stroking a dramatic 2-run home run off Fernando Mora. The game-changing hit put the Cajuns on top, 6-4.
"I'm proud to be a part of what we've got going on here," Summers told the Crowley Daily News. "It's a great group and we're happy with the win."
The win moves Crowley to a record of 2-1.
