Losing Streak Continues for Sonics with 2-1 Loss to Screaming Eagles
|
The Mercer Island Screaming Eagles got a magnificent effort from pitcher Kelemeneke Balun, who kept Atlantic City hitters in check en route to a 2-1 Screaming Eagles win at Mercer Island Grounds. Balun got the win, improving to 4-0. He allowed 4 hits and walked 1 over 7.1 innings. Balun allowed 1 earned run. The first-place Screaming Eagles have won 4 in a row.
Asbel Kiprop, who is tied for 5th in the PAA in stolen bases with 24, came through for Mercer Island with a solo home run in the bottom of the fourth. The center fielder went 2 for 4 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 1 run and collected 1 run batted in.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Kiprop told the Mercer Island Times.
