Patriots Rally For Late Win Over Battery
|
The Boston Patriots stopped the Charleston Battery, 5-4, at Dunkin Donuts Park. The Patriots got a big game from Dennis Wacher, who was 3-4 with a home run and a triple, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. Leo Ingelbrigtsen, credited with the win, is now 5-3. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. The Patriots raised their record to 56-46.
Jeff Simpson was the walk-off hero for Boston. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Patriots left fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Charleston manager Matt Hunt said following the tough loss.
