Ruggiero Veneziano did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks from losing, 5-4, to the Lake Minnetonka Love Boats at Thunder Hawks Ballpark. Veneziano was 1 for 2 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Lake Minnetonka reliever Dennis Blanchard picked up the win to move to 3-4. Ricardo Peito suffered the loss. Getting the save was Mark Jacobson, his 8th.

Lake Minnetonka used the timely hitting of Celio Guimaraens to seize the win. The catcher stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Love Boats on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We squandered some opportunities," said Ft. Polk South manager John Anderson.

Lake Minnetonka goes to 33-56, Ft. Polk South to 55-34.
