Multi-HR Game for Xiao in 5-4 Win
|
The Lake Minnetonka Love Boats saddled the San Bernardino Grasshoppers with a loss at Heron Field. The final score was 5-4. Su-wu Xiao, named player of the game, was 3 for 3, including 1 single and 2 home runs. The Lake Minnetonka center fielder scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Lake Minnetonka reliever Rizal Pacheco picked up the win to move to 1-1. Alberto Gómez suffered the loss. Mark Jacobson, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 7th save.
Lake Minnetonka first baseman Arto Toikka helped the Love Boats to the win. In the bottom of the fifth inning, the 23-year old center fielder stroked a 2-run triple. For the game, Toikka went 1 for 4 with a triple, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"I felt good up there," said Xiao. "I saw the ball well."
The Grasshoppers, now 38-48, have lost 5 straight.
