The Mercer Island Screaming Eagles did just enough to sneak past the Virginia Palladium Sox, 4-3, at Mercer Island Grounds. Mercer Island pitcher Pavle Simic earned player of the game honors. Adrik Mihalushkin notched his 2nd save in 2 chances. At 55-31, the Screaming Eagles have a slim two-game lead in the Premier AA.

The Screaming Eagles took the lead in the bottom of the fourth. With one out, Corey Ollerton hit a solo home run off Virginia pitcher Sergio Gallegos, putting Mercer Island in front, 4-0. For the game, Ollerton went 1 for 4 with a home run.

After the game, Mercer Island manager Richard Weaver applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
