Shooters Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Palladium Sox
|
Kevin Maughan pitched well, but his team, the Virginia Palladium Sox, still dropped a 4-1 decision to the Springfield Shooters at Palladium Labs. Reliever Andy Tidwell picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Kevin Maughan took the loss. Stan Sweeney nailed down his 2nd save.
Springfield used a timely hit from Eugene Bowman to get the win. The second baseman delivered a run-scoring triple in the top of the eighth inning to put the Shooters on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"I really like what we did out there today," Bowman said after the game.
The Shooters go to 36-42, putting them 8th in the Premier AA.
