The Lake Minnetonka Love Boats defeated the Minnesota Loons, 7-4, at Loony Bin today. Leading the charge for Lake Minnetonka was right fielder Alfredo Garza. He was 3-4 with 2 home runs, a triple, and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 4. The winner was Carlos López, who threw 108 pitches over 7.1 innings. The left-hander was charged with no runs on 8 hits. The 9th-place Love Boats improved to 27-48.

Lake Minnetonka took a 3-0 lead on Garza's 11th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which he hit off Martyn Drdio in the top of the sixth, propelled Lake Minnetonka to the win.
