Grasshoppers Come Up Short at Atlantic City
The Atlantic City Sonics and San Bernardino Grasshoppers obliged those fans who came to Sonics Ballpark hoping for an exciting game.

The Atlantic City Sonics beat the San Bernardino Grasshoppers, 6-5, at Sonics Ballpark. The win was largely due to the efforts of left fielder António Casas, who captured player of the game honors. He went 3-4 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The 5th-place Sonics are now 37-34, the Grasshoppers 33-38.

Atlantic City took a 6-5 lead on Casas's 9th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which he hit off Miika Jarvi in the bottom of the seventh, propelled Atlantic City to the win.

"It wasn't our best performance," said Casas, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."
