The New Orleans Voodoo picked up a win at The Voodoo Lounge, knocking off the Charleston Battery, 5-2. On the mound for New Orleans was right-hander Sy-ing Tah, who played a pivotal role in the win. Tah got the win, improving to 9-8. He allowed 8 hits and walked 1 over 6 innings. Tah allowed 2 earned runs. Ted Chong converted his 5th save in 5 tries.
New Orleans grabbed control in the bottom of the sixth. With two out and runners on 1st and 3rd, Colm Goodwill delivered a 3-run home run, to make it 5-2 in favor of the Voodoo.
"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said Charleston manager Matt Hunt. "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."
The Voodoo now have a record of 38-60.
