Thunder Hawks Come Back Late to Top Sixshooters
|
The Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks topped the Westwood Sixshooters by the score of 7-3, with the largest share of the credit going to designated hitter Carlos Castro. Castro went 1 for 1 with a double and 3 walks, while scoring 2 runs for the Thunder Hawks. Ricardo Peito recorded his 2nd save for Ft. Polk South. Ft. Polk South now sits at 31-21, while Westwood falls to 18-34.
Ft. Polk South used a timely hit from Lucas Gallant to get the win. The third baseman delivered a bases-clearing triple in the top of the eighth inning to put the Thunder Hawks on top, 7-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Gallant.
