Big Day by Castro Sparks Thunder Hawks Win
|
The Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks grabbed a 9-4 win over the Springfield Shooters at Thunder Hawks Ballpark. Ft. Polk South first baseman Carlos Castro was 3 for 5 with a home run and a double, while adding 6 RBI and scoring once to earn player of the game honors. The Thunder Hawks go to 28-20, putting them third in the Premier AA.
Ft. Polk South grabbed the momentum in the bottom of the fifth, when Castro, who is tied for 9th in the PAA with a .877 OPS, hit a 3-run home run. His 7th home run of the season put the Thunder Hawks out in front, 5-4.
"We did more than enough to get the win," said Castro.
